WebSentinel is a utility for monitoring the content of web pages for search terms at a scheduled time, optionally on a periodic basis.
Drag and drop URLs or use the "Current Browser URL" button to add URLs to the list window:

Click in the "Search Terms" column of each row to open an editor, then type or copy the terms you want to search for in the content of that URL:

To create a schedule, first select the items you want to search:

Then click the "Date-Time" button to pick a time to start the schedule. Use the "Current Time" button to initialize the picker to the current date and time:

Use preferences to specify a repitition, such as repeat every 30 minutes:

Various other options are available in preferences, such as only sending an email notification if the search terms are found, or stopping a schedule after they are found. You can also choose between two types of date time pickers, a calendar and clock, or a textual version:


Use the "Email Notifier" pane to configure the mail server and specify the recipient (note that the recipient is also the sender of the email). You can also cutomize the email subject here:

Click the "Start" button to run the schedule. The countdown column displays the time remaining to the next search:

WebSentinel logs its results to its own console log file named "WebSentinel.log" in your Logs directory of your Library. Open the console log using either the "Console" button in the list window, or by selecting "Open Console..." from the File menu.
WebSentinel will wake up a sleeping computer prior to a search time if you run it as "root user." To do so use Chalaut.
